3 idots - Movie review

3 idiots I would say is one of the best movies I have seen in the coming times and this is gonna happen to be one of the ever green movies that I am going to love every time I see it. I saw the movie with my mom for the second time last week and both of us loved it to the hilt, it was a movie with such brilliance so much so that I wanted to get back to doing engineering all over again.

Amir's acting was brilliant and so was everyone else .. News is that 3 idiots is being remade in tamil and wonder who the cast would be .. now I really cannot imagine Vijay playing the role of Amir khan ?!!?!? God save 3 idiots !

Inidhu Inidhu - Movie Review Experience

I was at Sathyam cinemas on wednesday night with family, to a surprisingly less filled car park and relatively less crowded screens. I hardly remember the last time I was at Sathyam for a night show on a week day for that matter been a while since I was at Sathyam itself (a place which was almost like a second home ;)).

After hearing to a lot of "must watch movie" kind of comments from friends and with the duet movies banner, I was more than assured that Inidhu Inidhu would turn out to be a good one. And it was a very beautiful movie. Siddhu, Appu, Madhu, Tyson, Shravz, Arvind (character names) were all too good. The movie captured the real essence of the college students and each actor portrayed it so well.. There were many scenes in the movie where I could relate myself and my friends with the characters of the story thou' not exactly but many at times.

It was a fun, beautiful, thoughtful, simple, sweet and very lively movie experience I had watching Inithu Inithu. With me jus' being out of college, watching a movie completely out of a college life, I relived my college days in the short span of three hours.

A simple story line, neat coinematography, with all characters performing their best.. I would recommend this movie to all those of them who would like to rewind to their college days . Btw, Inithu Inithu is a remake of the super hit telugu movie Happy days.

Yup, college days were truly happy :)

Movie "Odipolama" review

It was one movie I eagerly anticipated since the time the movie was being shot. I followed it up like crazy .. downloaded the songs on the day of its music release. Was totally excited when I saw the poster of the movie right from the dailies to the hoardings across the city. It was an introductory movie for actor Parimal who was my friend D's cousin.

But, due to various other reasons I couldn't catch up with the movie when it was in the theaters and after hearing rave reviews from my friends and after so much persuasion by friend D I finally caught up with the movie this noon.

At the beginning during the start of the movie was thinking that it is Parimal's first movie so its ok.. I shouldn't be expecting too much .. the first song comes and I'm in total awe of his dancing skills , it starts there and from then on I haven't had the slightest hesitation on having to watch the movie. Every single cast in the movie has done a wonderful job *applause* and good show by debutant actor Parimal as well.. except for the first few starting mins of the movie .. Parmial has done a good job.

A nice movie to catch up with on a lazy afternoon :)

Break - ing !

I jus' got back home from college less than half hour back and I'm here off to blogging and checking mails .. This feels like bliss .. the blissfulness is also since I had pani puri on my way back home treating myself to my not so successful cycle test performance . I can't remember the last time I actually spent some quality time jus' for me ... I jus' hope I could get a weekend all by myself but that looks unlikely atleast in the fore seeable future.
For now .....
I'M GOING ON A MOVIE MARATHON starting in a few mins .. I wish I could continue with this for the next few days apart from my time in the college ... lets see :)

Wassup with me ??

College is turning out to be so much fun in the final year, not that it hasn't been till now .. but jus' the fact that it is the final year is pepping up everyone's mood to have as much fun as possible , so we don' regret later for all the fun we missed.. Studying has always been scheduled for the last few days before exam .

I've been reading this book "The Alchemist" written by Paulo Coelho which I borrowed from my friend after hearing a bit of what the book is all about. It seemed to be a very inspiring book, thou it being a lil philosophical ..

When the often used quotes like " When you wanna achieve something in this world so desperately, you will always find someone to help you" (I totally agree with this one and many such lines used in the book often). These seem pretty inspiring when reading it alone as a quote but as a book , its such an irony I felt so heavy hearted while reading this book .. This has not jus' happened with me but a few other friends of mine as well ...

A few other friends of mine have left abroad for higher studies and a few of them will be leaving very shortly . It is hard to believe that they are no more around in Chennai where they are jus' a call away and tada ... all of you meet as and when you want .. *sighh*

We have our department's technical symposium coming up on the 7th and 8th of next month , where i ll be coordinating for the paper presentation event along with my friends...thats keeping me lil busy as well .

All that apart we are planning for a movie watching spree .. all old and new movies with a lot of new releases ..

I along with my friends caught up with this movie " Vedigundu murugesan" (I don think this movie requires a seperate post, so thats the reason im putting it along with a lot other miscellaneous stuffs).

I fell asleep 2 times and would have continued my sleep hadn't I been woken up by my friend .. A movie with no well defined storyline .. in fact im still wondering where the story started and how it ended .. The only entertaining thing about it was the comment we could pass ... I strongly reccommend not to watch this movie even if your totally jobless ...

Facebook quiz , the movie and my life ..

I ve kinda got addicted to these quizes on facebook of late and during one of the quiz which was about to which bollywood movie my life resembled to - after answering a series of questions the answer I got was Na Jaane Tu ya Jaane Na . Well, I hadn't watched the movie back then.

But, the answer to the quiz made me curious and even more were the comments which I recieved from my friends stating that is so true and I'm so like Genelia in that movie .. Couple of days back I decided on downloading and watching it. Well, I don' really know if it resembles my life or I would rather say 'may be it does' .

As for the movie, it was a little boring in the beginning but loved it later on. A very cute story, it would have been a lil silly sometimes but then I totally liked it may be coz it was said to be similar to my life :)

Ayan - Movie Review

I finally caught up with Surya and Tamana starer Ayan last night at Inox with my parents. The long delay in catching up with the movie was due to my semester practical exams which jus' got over 2 days back .

As for the movie - as always Surya was at his best , Tamana was good too and all the other actors did a great job as well .. The songs were bautifully scened but the only thing I didnt like much about the film was the violence factor , guess it was a little over board . It was a complete entertainer otherwise - jus' couldn't figure out how the time flew by :)

Today I have a holiday cause of bandh .. yay!! A much needed one after those dreadful prac. exams

Slum dog Millionaire review

I happened to catch up with this Oscar nominated movie, Slum dog Millionaire this morning. Hard reality portrayed in a very beautiful way with a concise story line. Despite being really positive and optimistic about life one does have to realise the harsh facts of reality.

Is this movie about portraying the harsh realities in India ? Or the own that shows one with persevearance can win against all odds? Well, all that the director Danny Boyle wanted to say was this movie is an answer to the West's question of what makes India tick?

The story line is neat and simple where Jamal a boy from the Darvi slums of Mumbai becomes a millionaire by playing the game of "Who wants to become a millionaire?" similar to that of crorepati . The story revolves around the way he answers the question in the game , through his life s experiences which he explains when he is being doubted for cheating in the game (thinking possible how could a slumdog get all the answers rite ) .

Hats off to the Slumdog Millionaire team and many congrats to them for their 10 Oscar nominations and special congrats to our very own AR (Golden)Rahman on winning the Golden Globe award and for his 3 Oscar nominations :)

A must watch movie indeed! Have a great weekend :)

Holidays!

Woww.. I jus got up from my sleep a little while back, the time now is around 12 noon. Gosh! It's been ages since I did this and it jus' feels so good and refreshing to get up so late after a long time and that too after a week of these hectic exams followed by a night show movie ;)

Me along with my parents and grandmom went to see Vaarnam Aiyiram last night after my last exam and I jus loved the movie. Surya was too too good as usual and so was Sameera Reddy , I especially liked her clothes in it :)

In these holidays I'm planning to do a book marathon and a movie marathon , neverthless blog marathon as well which doesn' actually require a mentioning. I would be glad to hear some good book and movies I can catch upon on my vacation.

I'm already planning to read The three mistakes of my life by Chetan Bhagat , Stay hungry stay foolish by Rashmi Bhansal ,White Tiger by Aravind Adiga.

My week that went by ...

Last week was a very memorable week for me as it had all the essential ingredients, I would otherwise call it a perfect week . Had regular classes on Monday and tuesday, had my hols starting form wednesday . It was the day before our Qualcomm innovator Challenge so we were busy preparing and reharsing our presentation.

Thursday was the day of our event, it was postponed from the morning session to the noon session and our presentation was sometime around 5:30 in the evening . I really liked the way our presentation went on. We were not able to make it to the top three, but we ended up in the fifth position of the 5312 entries that came by . I was indeed happy! I also happened to attend an entrepreneurship workshop for which we were selected and that was quite informative as well :)


After all this I also got to watch a movie Sakarakati and met up with a couple of my childhood friends, we also dropped by my school and clicked a few pics.. OMG! How much its changed from what it was ..

Ice Princess - The movie

I was watching this movie sometime back after almost a year. My dad had got the dvd from the dvd library after reading about it in my blog here. This is one movie which I would love to watch over and over again.

Tranchtenberg plays Casey Carley a brilliant high school science student who initially films figure skaters for her physics project which would help her get a scholarship from Harvard. But, as time passes by she learns it herself to understand the sport better thinking it would help her in her project but eventually falls for the sport and turns out to be a figure skater herself. All this despite her mum wanting her to get the scholarship and go to college after her high school. That's when she makes her mum realise that she has shattered her mum's dream and not hers. Her heart was always in figure skating. The movie is ,how she goes about achieving her passion.

This is one of my favourite scenes from the movie and has always brought tears to my eyes. Her mum comes to see her perform despite she being against her, it is this support that actually makes her win :)

Vazthukal - Movie

Hi peeps, its great to be back here :) My week was packed and I'm back home for the weekend and a good news - I have got the data card , So I will be able to easily access internet from hostel :)

One evening I was quite jobless in my hostel when me and a couple of friends planned to catch up with a movie called 'Vazthukal' meaning 'Wishes' staring Madhavan and Bhavana in the lead roles. When I recall the day I saw the movie I can't stop grinning. Well,it was nothing funny but the fact that you can never find a word or phrase in any language other than tamil, a rare reality in the current scenario.

I don' suggest you to watch the movie as its not all that great, but I do encourage students who have their tamil exam the following day to catch up with the movie as it will sure help them score better :)

Aaja Nachle ( Come let's DANCE)

Aaja Nachle...This is how I feel right now.. not jus' now but have been feeling this way for the whole day.. I feel so hyper and so wanna dance .. I was so waiting for Madhuri's( THE DANCING DIVA'S ) come back film Aaja Nachle (Come let's dance) in which she plays the role of a choreographer .. No, don worry I'm not telling you the story , I haven't caught up with the movie yet but I feel so restless and wanna watch it as soon as I can but I doubt if I could do it anytime soon :( .. Me being the dance maniac I am was so thrilled to hear a about Madhuri's come back .. The minute I heard the title track I knew I was gonna dance for this for the diwali function in my flats and the time I knew she was playing the role of a choreographer I'm jus waiting to watch her on screen .. But, poor me I couldn't even get to watch the videos of the whole song in youtube .. They aren't out yet I suppose.. Anyways till then I will manage with this

Kannamoochi Yenada - Movie review

Kannamoochi yenada is one of the Diwali releases for 2007 which has turned out to be a whole some family entertainer.

It is a wholesome family entertainer . The role of Harish Venkatraman is jus' tailor made for Prithviraj and he has done justice to the role.. Thou' the Mozhi hangover is seen , Prithvi is good as ever . Sathyaraj and Manobala have added some humour to the film along with Prithvi . Radhika and Sandhya have also done a good job , Thou' Sandhya could have been a little better with dialogue delivery/ recording as it sounded too artificial in some scenes. Songs were average but the picturisation was good for all the songs .. At the end of the movie when you think about there is no proper story line , it could have been much better . Neverthless , if you want an entertaining movie goahead and catch up with Kannamoochi Yenada you won't be disappointed .
