My study desk

As I sit to complete my remaining office work in my study desk, I just realise it has been more than a year since I used my study desk.

How things have changed in the few years. Until when I was in school my study desk happened to be one of the most dreaded place at home. The various scriblings in my desk reminds me of how well I whiled away time pretending to study .. ;)

I hate Maths but I love numbers ..

I came up with this title in the morning when I was randomly going through my everyday pages like blog, twitter and so on. Each time I see an increase in the number of followers or a new comment for my post it still is the kinda reaction that invokes in me the way it used to when I got comments for my initial posts..

My love for numbers goes with

• Birth dates , anniversaries or other special ocassions
• When I see an addition in my number of followers
• With each additional comment or a new like/unlike view - as it lets me know that the post has been worth someone else s time
• Salary - I got my first (full time work) salary very recently. I was more than happy when I first got paid through blogging as well.
• The time you spend with people who mean a lot to you
• When your eagerly counting down time for a special moment
• Marks
• Speeeeeeeeeed !! as the numbers increase in the speedometer
• The numbers that we dial before those long phone chats
• Oh yea .. how can I forget Cricket ? the more the runs your team score the more the merriment (@Karthik s - I was wondering what would your comment be for this post and I came up with this point)

Anything else guys ?? Any other way in which numbers have brought in joy into your life ?

It was a beautiful day :)

Today was lovely , no not that it was any occasion or was very eventful. It was totally relaxing especially after one very hectic week .. the kind of break I wanted and the weather in Chennai was jus so apt ..

The weather was beautiful with slight drizzles .. not too cloudy .. I sat in my balcony enjoying the hot morning tea which my mum made reading the lonely planet magazine .. watta way to start the day.. As the day went by it only got better and more relaxing .. had some time for myself .. prepared for the project review .. me and D are already planning out for my bday .. shortlisted the places to decide on where my treat has to be ...

Late evening was fun with parents and now the last couple of hours I ve been online .. downloading the movie Might Joe Young, D's suggested me to see this one and im planning to download songs of Raavan as well ..

I would love to have more such days in my life .. Its beautiful !! Its beautiful :) :)

What am I upto ??

Enjoying the rain that's been hitting the Chennai city on and off over the last couple of weeks .. Saw a movie on TV last evening (Dhaam Dhoom) .. Went to Mc D for lunch with friends .. Full time in FB .. Resuming my blogging skills with a new post in my travel blog .. Blog hopping .. Playing Farm ville .. Waving trying to figure out how to use google wave.. catching up over phone with my old school buddies ..Downloading and listening to all new song releases

In case your wondering im on vacation. No, I have my semester exams going on and what better time to appreciate good movies , music , food and the other finer aspects of life :)

My Summer cravings ..

Most of us would associate summer with juices, water melon, tender coconut, lassi, butter milk et all . But for me its Paani puri and god knows why ? I get this weird craving for paani puri especially in summer , do you get any such cravings ??

I'm already planning to head to the chaat shop opposite my home to get today's quote of PP :)

Scenty Affair

There have always been certain smell that has appealed to our olfactory senses and few of my all time favourites are the smell of wet sand especially when the rain kisses the ground , Scent of jasmine, smell of Jhonson baby powder - it gives me a sense of freshness , smell of my favourite food as my grand mom cooks , smell of new clothes, smell of nail polish remover , smell when brownies or choc cookies are being baked . Well, I'm jus' starting to turn hungry .. These lovely scents have always been a treat to my nose and senses :)

As a kid I always had this habit of collecting perfume/scent bottles especially the small ones that come as a set. The last time I remember collecting was a couple of years backa nd the only brand I could recall at the moment is Nina Ricci . Loved it!

Beating the heat

It's that time of the year when mercury levels in Chennai and most other parts of India soar. In a city with climate ranging from hot, hotter to hottest - it is also the time when students like me are bombarded with exams from all directions and the worst of all is getting back home mid day after an exam , I truly feel like a sizzler.

Apart from all this, me being a summer person these are all the stuffs I do everyday to beat the heat:

Wear cotton clothing
Have a face wash as and when possible
Find a seat right under the fan
Have a juice right after the exam
A butter milk and lassi at Tambaram station
A bottle of water at Chetpet station
Keep the A/C on.
Watermelon and Tender coconut water :)

Ice- creams to be added on the list at the earliest :)

Ayan - Movie Review

I finally caught up with Surya and Tamana starer Ayan last night at Inox with my parents. The long delay in catching up with the movie was due to my semester practical exams which jus' got over 2 days back .

As for the movie - as always Surya was at his best , Tamana was good too and all the other actors did a great job as well .. The songs were bautifully scened but the only thing I didnt like much about the film was the violence factor , guess it was a little over board . It was a complete entertainer otherwise - jus' couldn't figure out how the time flew by :)

Today I have a holiday cause of bandh .. yay!! A much needed one after those dreadful prac. exams

There is so much to write with lil time *sigh*

My days have been packed with bday parties, planning for bday surprises, tests, record work, lab exams and much much more .. There is so much I wanna write here, but guess it will take atleast another couple of days for my lab exams to get over .. for me to get into blogging full swing .

Chennai us getting hotter with the summer setting in, so I have moved from hostel to my home (to avoid the heat and power cuts at the hostel) becoming a full time day scholar for the remaining part of this sem :)

Yipee.. Its Holidays!!

Yup, I'm back and now its an all new me.. No exams, no worries, no books to cry with for that matter I hardly stay at home.. To be specific my holidays started over the weekend and should I call it the writer's block or my laziness that put me away form my blog except for my Monday morning Inspiration . But now there are so many incidents that happened in the last couple of hours that made me write this post and bring me back to ful fledgged blogging (yup, I mean a new post every few hrs.. thats wat I call ful fledgged :) ).

It is during these lazy times when I spend most of my time orkutting and stay away from my blog thou' I have stuffs to write .. I get a mail from Sudarshan Srinivasan. He is the guy who started Twillight takeout, the restaurant about which I have blogged about here. He had went through my review and I was all the more happy to see that he has took all the efforts to mail me about my work.. To top it all he offered to send me some free food as well(He sure seems to be a nice person :) ). Well me being the good girl I am will opt to pay for my meal and will surely review about the food as well in my In and around Chennai blog :). Will let you guys know once I put the post up there. And another reason for me to quickly make this post is my cousin Sriram who has re-started blogging and thinks my blog has inspired him to do so *Happily grinning* (Now, how can I be without not posting anythin in my blog . So, thats another reason I'm here..)

And about my holidays, I have a one month long vacation which I'm totally excited about after my rigourous semester filled with exams , assignments, attendance to maintain et all.. Got whole lot of plans for my vacation will make it my next post.. Me planning to watch a lot of good movies in these hols too..
