Monday morning Inspiration # 16

I'm sorry that my MMI comes a little late this time , had some problem with my laptop so had to wait till my mom returns from work to use her lap top . Thank you all for your continuous support , this has indeed inspired me to put more of MMI s here :)

So here goes this weeks inspiration , may be the first one for the coming year too :)

A SIMPLE GESTURE

A simple gesture could save someone’s life. No, that does not happen every time but it pays to be kind to someone.
Mark was walking home from school one day when he noticed that the boy ahead of him had tripped and dropped all the books he was carrying, along with two sweaters, a baseball bat, a glove and a small tape recorder.
Mark knelt down and helped the boy pick up the scattered articles. Since they were going the same way, he helped to carry part of the burden. As they walked, Mark discovered the boy's name was Bill, that he loved video games, baseball and history. He was having a lot of trouble with his other subjects and that he had just broken up with his girlfriend.
Mark went home after dropping Bill at his house. They continued to see each other around school, had lunch together once or twice, and then both graduated from junior high school. They ended up in the same high school, where they had brief contacts over the years. Finally the long-awaited senior year came.
Three weeks before graduation, Bill asked Mark if they could talk.
Bill reminded him of the day years ago when they had first met. "Do you ever wonder why I was carrying so many things home that day?" asked Bill. "You see, I cleaned out my locker because I didn't want to leave a mess for anyone else. I had stored away some of my mother's sleeping pills and I was going home to commit suicide.
But after we spent some time together talking and laughing, I realized that if I had killed myself, I would have missed that time and so many others that might follow. So you see, Mark, when you picked up my books that day, that simple gesture, you did a lot more. You saved my life."

So, lets all help whenever we can . The small deed that we do might be something of great value for the person in need .

Its been celebrations all around with Christmas and New year. In less than a weeks time we will be inviting the new year 2008 . At, this very occasion I have another reason to rejoice , this is my

Yup, I feel very fortunate to have my 100th post here in the time of celebration and good will. And I would like to thank you all (my blog friends and readers of my blog) to have given me this wonderful opportunity .

Initially when I started blogging, I was very skeptical if there would be people who would like to read my blog .. Later on I thot I write for myself and I should not be bothered if others find it interesting . But in a couple of months I should say I was addicted to blogging . I was amazed to see the amount of response i got from people world over , had bloggers coming in regularly to read what I write and in the process made some amazing friends as well . I thank you all once again to have made me happy by reading my blog and sharing your thoughts , as I started blogging during one of the low times in my life ( I was on a semester break from college due to certain reasons , if you had noticed I didn't talk much about college life in my posts) it certainly was a moral boost and support to me.

There was no particular reason why I started blogging. It was one fine day I had loads of time in hand ,was browsing the net and found about blogging . That was the start and hopefully should never be the end as long as im alive .. The year 2007 was a roller coaster ride like every other year and I should say blogging gave me the highs of life .

P.S : I had a couple of lovely blog friends Sheetal and Shanthini ask me if we could meet up during my S'pore trip . I would really love to meet you guys but im sorry to say I don' think it would be possible this time as im travelling with a lot of people from my family and im not really sure how they would like to adjust with me running around to see my friends . The International conference on global Entrepreneurship was held at SRM University in the outskirts of Chennai from Dec 20-22nd 2007 . I was one of the delegates and it was the first time I'm participating in something like this thou' I have been thinking of pursuing a career in Entrepreneurship for a couple of years now. I presented a paper on "Entrepreneurship in the Hospitality Industry" (guess I was one of the youngest participants in the conference) . I enjoyed the whole experience and looking forward for more such events.

The Chief guest of the conference was Ashok Soota (Chairman and MD Mindtree consulting) . There were very many invited talks from eminent people from world over . Had participants from India, Singapore, Japan, US and Iran . It was a very diverse and new experience for me. The most interesting part of this conference was the panel discussion . There were panel discussions in the areas of Women Entrepreneurship , Educational Entrepreneurship, Youth Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship .

Panel discussion on Women and Youth Entrepreneurship were a few of my favorites as I was able to connect with what they spoke.. If I go into detail Im sure the post would continue for pages . The most inspiring talks were by Shalin jain and Sarath Babu , the two youth Entrepreneurs . The panel discussions were most headed by prof. from Virginia university and Women Entrepreneurship panel was geaded by Dr.Sushila rao (C0-founder Soft skills India).

These 3 days turned out to be very enlightening and I have gained a lot too and have come up with a few quotes myself , will share it with you guys in my Moday morning inspiration. Thank you all for your wishes ,like I said my presentation went well ..

My presentation, conference and entrepreneurs...

The conference(ICGE, which I was talking about in my last before post ) has enlightened me in many ways .. Im yet to give my presentation , which will be tomorrow.. At the end of the 2nd day in the 3 day conference I am so excited . Not because I have my presentation tomorrow that may matter only partly but the best thing of these two days were the kind of people I met a LOT of entrepreneurs (thou' not very popular but im sure quite a few of you would have heard about them they are mainly Indian entrepreneurs.. It was a very exciting forum , much better than what I had expected of it. The line up of spreakers were amazing , I jus' truly enjoyed every moment there .. One more day to go and I hope I could make the best use of it too . I have a few pics to put it up here..Due to the lack of time and in availablity of the connecting cable will do it sometime later ..

My day to day rambling...

This week is turning out to be something like I have never seen before .. My room is so messy and so is my house and it smells paint everywhere... Im jus' praying all the time that I don't end up feeling sick during my presentation which is to be held at the later part of the week..( we will come to that later)

For the last 3 days I have been preparing for my prsentation in an elevated position .. let me explain.. On my cot there were 3 beds stacked and i was sitting on top of it and preparing.. was so FUNNY.. and to top it all we had some guests dropping by home today for you know what ??? They wanted to have a look at our home as they are planning to renovate their house.. huff..So we had to show our messy house to them .. I wonder what they thot at the moment thou' they knew we were re painting it.. I jus' so felt that I wasn't at home when they dropped by ... Usually everyone decides to paint when its not raining , so did we.. but from the day we started painting its been raining cats and dogs ( not literally thou') this again makes things all the more messy .. And we can't stop with the work , as this is the only time we get to do before new year and Pongal ( a south indian festival)..

So, about my presentation .. Im presenting a paper in the International conference on global Entrepreneurship which is to be held in my college for the next 3 days. And the details of my paper ,will write it in another post .. I have been informed that my paper is selected and i need to present it in the conference but haven't got the information on which day i will be presenting as yet..Im sure there are no presentations on the first day of the conference as per the schedule, so that's iving me a little peace.. Im jus' so worried as this is the 1st presentation im gonna do.. Wish me good luck and I jus' hope all turns out to be fine..

Monday morning Inspiration # 14

Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled a prosperous country. One day, he went for a trip to some distant areas of his country. When he was back to his palace, he complained that his feet were very painful, because it was the first time that he went for such a long trip, and the road that he went through was very rough and stony. He then ordered his people to cover every road of the entire country with leather. Definitely, this would need thousands of cows' skin, and would cost a huge amount of money.
Then one of his wise servant dared himself to tell the king, "Why do you have to spend that unnecessary amount of money ? Why don't you just cut a little piece of leather to cover your feet ?"
The king was surprised, but he later agreed to his suggestion, to make a "shoe" for himself.
There is actually a valuable lesson of life in this story : to make this world a happy place to live, you better change yourself - your heart; and not the world.

For the last couple of hours I have been checking out a few templates for my blog as I feel this template has been around for quite sometime now and with a new year ahead and my blog nearing her 100th post I thought I will give her a make over.. My weekend

I know this post comes a little late here. Sorry, was a bit held up with my paper presentation which I got to do next week.


My last weekend was quite packed and fun filled . I was always excited about the Jodi.no1 show aired in Vijay TV (For the uninitiated - its a dance competition for real and reel life couple(television artists) .Its one of the most popular shows here . And during this weekend the participants of the Jodi.no1 show of both season 1(2006) and season2(2007) , Airtel supersinger (junior and senior) , Kalaka povathu yaaru( a stand up comdey show) all came together for one mega event which was held at Nehru indoor stadium on sunday (9th dec) . So was busy getting tickets for the show and also went to Landmark( a book store) to get a few books and more importantly a book on Singapore .. I am usually crazy about travel books, so this was one reason for me to add one more to my collection. Reached home really tired and hit the bed to get up soon the next day.

Now that i have got my license for driving and still havent drove my car I had a very guilty feeling for quite sometime . So asked if my instructor could help me out as I got trained in the driving institute car and was real scared to drive my car all by myself . The lady was really willing to help me out and we hit the road by 7 in the morning and my dad accompanied us.. Jus in case I got into any troucle :p .. After 2 hours of driving we reached home around 10 .

By now I was really excited about the show in the evening. We reached the stadium by 6 and the show started by 7 .. Thou' it started late it was a big time hit with everone of us.. It was much better than I expected and the overall presentation was amazing.. Was unable to stay till the end as the programme started an hour late . I was really upset when we had to leave but 15 mins down the line I didn't regret it as I felt damn hungry .. Later we had good food and went home to sleep.. That's about my weekend.. How did your weekend go?? Anything intresting to share??

Monday morning Inspiration # 13

SHIP WRECK



The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements and to store his few possessions. But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky.

The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me!" he cried. Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

It is easy to get discouraged when things are going badly. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground--it just may be a smoke signal that summons The
Grace of God.
