I'm so happy for GRT Hotels .. Way to go ..

GRT Grand hotel has been awarded "THE BEST HOTEL OF THE YEAR" award for the year 2007-2008 and it's general manager Mr. U.Sasi Kumar has won the prestigious "Young Hotel General Manager" award for the year 2008.

This hotel is very close to my heart as I ve been there on an internship (like most of you know my passion lies in the Hospitality Industry) with my friend Dhruv for a period of two weeks ,having a study of the variuos departments and enjoying a first hand experience whereever possible.

I was so excited when I saw the article in the news paper this evening and I was so over joyed , the next thing that I did was to call Mr. Ravi Balakrishnan, IT Head GRT Grand hotel who assisted us through out the internship. Jus' looking to drop by the place in person and convey my wishes to them.

I'm so proud I got to do my Intern in one of the best hotels in the country.. Yayy!!

Taj Mount road, Taj Vivanta et Kingfisher Red..

It jus' looks like the storm has settled down after the terror strikes in Mumbai almost a month back and brand Taj is back to splurge its customers in luxury with its two new launches Taj Mount road,Chennai and Vivanta by Taj - Whitefield, Bangalore .

It gives me a sense of excitement when i get to know that thereis something to look forward to especially in the Hospitality Indutsry, that is how exactly I felt like when I got to know about these new launches few mins back :) . I'm jus' so waiting to go check out where exactly is Taj Mount Road located and may be drop by sometime soon :) .

On the other hand, the first 5-star air line in India - Kingfisher has launched its low cost airlines Kingfisher Red , this seems to be a frilled low cost carrier where you can choose your complimentary food and beverages , magazines, news papers et all.

It does feel good to see the year end on a high note despite the recission, terror strikes et all.

My week

My week was too good to say the least, I have been going for an in plant training at GRT hotels for the last one week, have another week of training to go. Me and my friend D have been going through this whole process in jus' a weeks time there was so much we could gain. Thou' the two of us are from the Information technology background, we are planning to make our career in the Hospitality Industry. So, this has been the first step towards our dream and we are certainly not disappointed. The experience we got there and the people we met has inspired us so much. Looking forward for the week ahead :)

I also happened to attend friend D's cousin's wedding reception yesterday and got a glimpse of many celebrities from the tinsel town. No, no I didn't go about clicking pics or getting autographs but jus' enjoyed the moment with friends and their family.
