A strong earthquake of 7.9 in the richter scale struck Indonesia's Sumatra island today and the effect was felt across many South east asian countries including Thailand, S'pore and Malaysia...

Was jus' concerned if all my blogger friends are safe .. Take care and don' near the coasts.. A tsunami warning was issued here as well , but looks like the warning has been called off ...
Be safe, Take care !

I didn't feel a thing though, and none of my family members said anything about it too.

@ Shanthini akka

Earth's crust is made up of tectonic plates , which move as the earth moves.. At transform boundaries, the plates move against each other building up tension, when this tension is released violently it causes earth quake ... I guess this is how earth quakes occur
