Lets go for Pani Puri :) :)

It was one of those days when you had so much of work to do .. all that I could think of was how to get things done soon.. print out .. slides .. diagrams .. flash back of how bad the first project review turned out to be ... But in between all this on the way back home from college , it was like a mini re union for me with my bus friends since its been a while I took my college bus back home and the best part of it was almost all my bus friends were there and we had a nice round of chatting and teasing .

It was between one of those talks when we were almost about to get off at our stops there was some one who said Lets go for Pani Puri and that was it ..

Pani Puri ?? Where ?? Keshav chat ?? Ashok pan house ??
and after all the discussion that lasted for a few mins we finally decided on Keshav chat .. 8 of us in queue , 1 pani puri counter , we were following the first in first out process .. Ah! I don' remember having pani puri with so many of them at a go .. was so much fun , this evening I will always remember :)

Me and K were totally ready to go with the plan the minute we heard the word Pani puri - such freaks we are of golgappa and we had always wanted to meet for Pani puri :)

So much fun it turned out to be , probably this short break was what kept me going for the rest of the tightly scheduled evening. Thank you so much guys for that wonderful evening! :)

Xtremism ....

These days I have been either enjoying my time to the hilt or getting totally bugged up or slogging to get some work done ... Nothin seems to be going on a moderate pace ..

I never in my wildest dream thought I would be able to sit for 7 hours straight and work on my project .. It happened today !! not bad :)

Times have come in the last few weeks that I ahve longed to have food at home .. jus' the thought of going to a restaurant make me want to skip a meal .. But, it has jus given me loads of stuff to write for my Eatin' out blog.

Two States

It was the time when Chetan baghat's Two State was released almost a couple of months ago I believe. I was hearing mixed reviews - the for Chetan Bhagat group who vouched the book has to be read and the anti Chetan Bhagat group which compared other Indian authors to CB's literature is of no standards.

But to me CB's book releases are like awaiting for one of those anticipated movie releases. I started reading this book after couple of my friends recommendation. I truly liked every bit of Two States. It is like a complete entertainer to me.

After reading it I'm whole heartedly recommending it to everyone. A couple of my friends who are never into the habit of reading books have borrowed my copy.

It was fun discussing the happenings in the book with my friends since most of them have moved to Chennai from various parts of North India and one specific friend who is a Punjabi .. It was total fun to hear their part of coming and settling in Chennai and how much they relate to the way they initially felt in this land of idly, sambar, vada..

I would rate it much better than 3 mistakes of my life and a little above 5 point some one, the other 2 writings of CB's that I have read.

Some people Some moments # 3

With all the good moments of college coming to a near end, it has been maximum fun with everyone wherever we are be it college or outside.

It was one such day when my friend H decided on treating me and D for a dinner out. After taking me around the city for a whole lot of time with no clue as to where I was gonna dine. Finally when the car entered Radisson GRT , I felt a sigh of relief for finally getting into "the" place and a sense of excitement as I have always wanted to dine at The great Kebab Factory at Radisson from the time I and D did our internship at GRT.

After relishing the yummilicious kebabs and the mouth melting desserts (I am skipping the biryani we had, it is was BAD) , it was an icing on the cake when we saw Surya , Jothika, Diya with a few other friends of theirs walk into the restaurant. The remaining time I was inside the restaurant all that I did was try to catch a glimpse of them every now and then. It turned out to be a treat in all senses :)

Some people Some moments # 2

Only in the last few days am I getting to experience the final semster feel with jus' 2.5 days of college and jus' project work to go on with .. and all other miscellaneous tasks to look into .. When it comes to fun .. everything else takes a back seat.

After screwing up big time in the first project review .. we treated our selves to some wonderful donuts on the way back home .. And only then did we realise that it was the same day we were looking forward to , to attend the chore nite show in Saarang , the cultural fest of IIT Madras.

With no tickets for the show .. Clueless about the timings .. No permission from home.. But jus' the urge to not miss it made everything else fall in place.. That too being in Chennai and not having been to Saarang (the most popular college culturals in the city)ever would have made me regret my entire life .. But not anymore :)

It was a fun filled evening, got another chance for being at the IIT M campus, fun times with friends.. Few hours well spent that I would always cherish :)

My best of 2009 !

Yaay.. This is my 400th post ! *proud smile* :)

2009 has already become history and we are into the fresh dawn of 2010. A very happy , prosperous and a successful 2010 to all of you :)

I loved making My best of 2008 post a year ago and ever since then any significant thing that happens in my life I bookmark it in my memory so I could finally put them all together in this very post that I was looking to do.

My 2009 kick started with a wonderful family trip to Jaipur for around a week, to start fresh and rejuvenated for the year ahead.

2009 was the year I started driving the car, this is one thing I'm so proud about thou' its not a big deal to see girls driving on the street these days. I'm so very happy I finally learned what I wanted to for the last 2 years and finally I'm putting my driving skills to use :). 2 other momemts that I always want to remember as a part of 2009 is that I made two highway trips, I got to drive on NH 4 twice on my way to my native place.

It was this year that I got recognised for my paper work which I did along with Dhruv at an International conference in Annamalai University. I definetly owe this to my parents who has helped us out so much on this regard. The travel to the conference and back was a fun trip in itself.

Cressida 09 - our department tech fest in my university saw all of us getting together and organise various events. I was so glad to be handling paper presentation which saw particpants from across various states particiapating. It was one big learning experience I would say.

It was one of those year's where I got to meet almost all of my uncles, aunts and cousins at different parts of the years as each of them had come down to India during variuos parts of the year , making it a very complete 2009 for me :)

Thou' I was not very active in blogsville this year, the Indibloggies ppl knew how to get me on track back by nominating my travel blog among among the top travel blogs in the country and gladly I have been ranked the second in the country :)

I also gave my ielts exam and scored an 8 on 9 - my first step for my aspiration to do my higher studies abroad.

I had a very fulfilling 2009 with both ups and downs like every other year, loved every bit of it. I'm sure there were some moments that were very special to 2009 itself , with relishing every moment of my 2009 and entering into the dawn of 2010 I would like to wish you all a happy 2010 with lots of goodness, proserity , good health and all that you desire. 2010 lets bring it on!

P.S. ( thou' I know we are already 3 weekes into 2010) I so wanted to make this post.. I loved writing every bit of it and wanted it to be an annual post in my blog.

Ratan Tata turns 72

Dear Mr. Tata,

I would firstly like to wish you a very happy 72nd birthday and advance new years wishes. May this new year keep you in good health and help the TATA conglomerate flourish as always.

I have off late been hearing that you are to retire in the coming years and your in search of a successor. I don' know if I am eligible to apply for the post ;) .

I am a final year student of engineering , will be graduating in 2010 majoring in IT. I have been deeply bit by the business bug and has always been inspired by the TATA group for the ethics and values they bring in to their employees and their management systems. I am also looking to do an MBA course in the coming years which I believe would feed my quest in know about business and management.

It was some four years back that I decided I wanted to become an entrepreneur and that time around I got to read your biography and that was it and I decided then that I should definetly meet you atleast once in my life time :) .

I read in a business magazine stating that you aren't particular about any constraints for applying for the post of the chairman , though the designation sounds a little contradicting with me being a woman , I wouldn' really mind it ;)

Holidays - Part 2

Well, I jus' remember writing about my holidy eve before I could full fledgedly get into the holidaying mood. Vacation and weekends are keeping me more occupied than the usual times.

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for the votes, support and encouragement that all you guys showered me with when my travelogue was nominated among the top 12 in the country by Indibloggies. I'm so glad to say its been ranked second :) Thank you all :)

This time over it wasn't a complete vacation either since I had an exam coming up once in every 10 days or so, so couldn' plan on a trip too but I jus' wish we get to go on one soon, else I will run out of topic to write in my travelogue.But, it was fun in its own ways.

This time over it was truly a vacation in one aspect. I don' remember getting up before 11 am in the morning except may be for a couple of days when I had to travel to far off distances to my exam centre and my folks were cooperative as well by not trying to wake me up early :)

I'm already in the near end of my holidays. Though my college officially re opens on the 4th of Jan , our classes for placement training have already started and has been going on from the beginning of this week. Apart from that 3 birthday parties + 7 movies + innumerable eating out times + a couple of family get togethers + 2 wedding + some preperation of my test = MY HOLIDAYS.

In the eve of my holidays we celebrated Richa's bday , a couple of hours before she could board into the train. It was a fun evening with all the friends out for dinner at Kabul.

The next morning or rather afternoon when I woke up I jus' realised I was late and had to rush and get ready for a bday lunch treat at Mainland China.

The highlights of my vacation were the family get together we had with my uncle, aunt and cousins , a day along the ECR , the Fun times with friends and the silver jubilee reunion for my mum's batch (CEG) which I attended as well.

My semester that was ..

(This post is more about getting my thougts 6 months back .. whoosh ! and fast forward with all the events that has happened with me in college since then .. until now. )

This happened to be my pre final semester . Usually the odd semesters turn out to be longer and so was this one streching from July to November (comparitivley shorter than the usual odd semesters).

My 7th sem started on a very positive note, well no specific reasons but then jus' the general feeling you get coz of the people around you. Thanks to you guys! This sem I guess was one of the fun filled ones with lots of hanging around with friends, I can hardly remember the time we ever had class this semester.

What did we do in class ?? Sudoku .. Chennai times, metro plus, movie in the laptop, CHATTING, canteen times .. There were also some delightful moments , which I'm really glad about and will always be a part of my resume ;) .. The fun trip to Annamalai University, Chidambaram in July 09 to present papers in an International Conference and winning it was jus' an icing on the cake :) .. Cressida '09 (our department symposium) in August where I was part of the core team who conducted Paper presentation .. Aarush (our college tech fest) saw us participating in a couple of events .. Friendship day celebration , Diwali celebration :) ..

I also got to know a lot of new juniors in the bus who eventually turned out to be my very good pals. My so very peaceful bus journey, which is how its been the last couple of years is turning out to be a total hungama with all these new found friends :)
